29/9/06 Reds 7 - Blues 1

The proof is finally in. Anything Red can do, Blue can eclipse with the greatest of ease. On the back of an embarassing red defeat that saw four Blue goals resulting from hapless Red blunders, Blue came out the following week to prove they could outclang Red without breaking a sweat. The bar has been raised to heights we'll not likely see matched for at least a week or two. Six, that's right six Red goals were the direct result of Blue brainfarts. After an early Blue lead hinted at another easy victory, Codpiece opened the blundergates by generously presenting the ball to the Red player nearest Blues net. Not to be outdone, the devil gifted two more Red goals while attempting solo runs from last man back. A record setting four goal assault within the span of minutes was capped off with Codpiece repeating his opening clang mid-sentence during a speach about not giving the ball away. To cap off the evening, Psycho's netminding gifted two more Red goals. And so ends Blues four game winning streak. Post match discussion among FNFootie authorities mused over awarding Carl and the Devil -2 assists and subjecting Psycho to 50 lashings with Steve's wet pants. Unfortunately, rational minds prevailed, but we have sent an email to Lord Stevens to request a probe into Carl's bung once he's finished with the FA.

We may review the seventh goal. It was awarded as an OG to Psycho following his admittance that one of his two goaltending clangers at the end was not even on target. It's hard not to award an own goal when the netminder admits he deflected it into his own net. Besides, he deserves some punishment.

I demand a review, the ball was clearly aimed at the trees in Crookes Valley Park behind the net and somehow I managed to place a low shot straight at Eric from the angle and the silly old psycho let it under his body!
